Alumni Thank You Note!

September 6th, 2007

Anna Clement from George Washington University attended our Summer Session and interned with the Pilsen/Little Village Mental Health Center. She writes:

“Dear Scott,
I had so many amazing experiences this summer, all of which were fostered by the Chicago Center. I am still processing and reflecting on all of the things I learned, and I continue to think about the people I met both in class and out.

To be honest, I was hesitent to come home this past summer, because the more I am away from the Chicago, the more I feel that I have less to come home to aside from my family. i am soooo grateful to have connected with you and to have had the opportunity to enroll in the center. The Chicago Center has helped me to better interpret the world around me, and I left Chicago this summer with so many new thoughts, ideas, and aspirations. I am also so glad to have gotten to know you as an incredible Professor, in addition to knowing you as “Clare’s uncle Scott”. I could not have asked for a better teacher.

I cannot begin to explain how much I admire what you do and what you believe in, and I hope that the Chicago Center continues to affect others as it has affected me. Thank you so much for everything. Take care and definitely keep in touch.

Anna
p.s. The first day I got back to DC I recruited my old roommate to do the program.”
