Blending student support and professional development to enhance the holistic student experience at the Chicago Center
Learn important professional and life skills, explore your strengths and apply them at your placement, go out into the world after your Chicago Center experience and do it. All Chicago Center students participate in six to eight sessions throughout the term.
These sessions include topics on leadership and Clifton StrengthsFinder, financial literacy, resume building, and LinkedIn. Together with our staff, students gain important skills that help them leave more prepared for their next personal and professional chapter.
Our coaching sessions with Chicago Center staff members provide students with extra support to integrate and discuss their life in Chicago.
Students take Clifton StrengthsFinder and participate in two hands-on sessions with a Strengths-certified coach.
Students discover the importance of understanding finances, learn how to make a budget, and build credit.
Learn to communicate professional experiences and stand out in job searches through our workshops in partnership with LinkedIn.

Studying off-campus is an exciting opportunity to enrich your life and career goals. It can also be a time of change, adjustment, and stress. Students don’t have to navigate this all on their own because My Student Support Program (MY SSP) is here to help.
My Student Support Program (My SSP)! My SSP provides 24/7 remote mental health and well-being support to students via technology. Students can access self-directed digital content and connect with clinical professionals who are experienced in helping students cope with the unique challenges they face.
Have 24/7 support to a professional counselor and connect with the same counselor over multiple sessions via telephone or video appointments
Complete an anonymous assessment to get feedback on your emotional health.
